Born in Taiwan, Rio has been active in the new music scene since 2001. He has focused on various practices of new music creation, from home-made binaural microphones and max/msp objects to the redefinition of listening. As a member of Taipei Sound Unit, a free-form sound-art collective united by prominent sound artist Dajuin Yao, he develops his music by extracting the internal energy of sound material and transmitting the metaphors he finds within.
