Vzhuru do kanalu! Zalovit si zvuky, obrazy a kody!
Letni dilny Cistirna 2009

Zveme Vas na tydenni tvurci a vzdelavaci setkani v Stare Cistirne v
prazske Bubenci, ktere se uskutecni od 23. do 28. srpna 2009. Pozvani jsou
domaci i zahranicni umelci a lektori, kteri budou spolu s ucastniky dilen
tyden spolecne pracovat na  instalacich, performancich a nastrojich,
specificky vytvorenych  pro dany prostor.

Stara kanalizacni cistirna je prostor zvlastnich zvukovych kvalit, s
podzemnimi usazovacimi nadrzemi a kanaly, ktere se stanou hracim polem pro
umelce a ucastniky. Michael Delia bude vyrabet nove hudebni nastroje z
klavirnich strun a piezzo reproduktoru, Stefanie Wuschitz ze svedska vam
ukaze jak hacknout mobilni telefony a pouzivat je jako hudebne-obrazovy
nastroj. S Michalem Kindernayem si muzete vyzkouset nataceni videa pod
vodou, s italsko-nemeckym zvukovym umelcem Hannesem Hoelzlem zase vytvaret
drobne svetelne a zvukove objekty pohanene energii vodnich kapek. Pro ty,
kteri touzi po trose napeti, je tady dilna  Radio Verite Johany Svarcove,
zname ze seskupeni Kazety nebo Radio Ivo, kde muzete spolu s ni vytvorit 
netradicni rozhlasovou hru na tema „Utek z vezeni“.
Ponekud jinak k dramatu pristupuje belgicky umelec Guy Van Belle, ktery by
divadlo vubec zrusil. Jeho dilna s nazvem Letmy dilo je pripravou na
„posledni divadelni predstaveni vubec“, a bude se konat vzdy
odpoledne pri kave a kolaci.
Maďarske seskupeni Besorolas Alatt bude spolu s ucastniky pracovat na
premisteni budovy cistirny, nastesti jenom zvukove, pomoci reproduktoru a
softwaru Pure Data. Komunita nadsencu a fanousku tohoto audiovizualniho
programu se na Letnich dilnach potka take na neformalni Pure Data Session.
Krome dilen se muzete tesit na prijemne stravene vecery u koncertu,
prednasek, promitani na vodu nebo grilovani. Program je jeste otevren, a
pokud byste se radi nejak zapojili, ozvete se!
Vstup na vsechny dilny a doprovodne akce je volny.

Dilny organizuje yo-yo, obcanske sdruzeni, zalozene v Praze pusobicim
kolektivem umelcu a kuratoru, ve spolupraci se Starou Cistirnou v Bubenci.

Let's dive into the canals to fish for sound, images and codes!

Summer Workshops Čistírna 2009

We invite you for a week long creative and educational session in the Old
Sewage Works in Prague – Bubeneč, taking place from 23 to 28 August
2009. Czech and international lecturers and artists have been invited to
work with the participants for one week to create installations,
performances and tools especially designed for the space and its
surroundings.

Old Sewage Works in Bubeneč, a space of extraordinary acoustic qualities,
with its underground water cleansing pools and canals, will become a
playground for the artists and participants of the workshops. Michael
Delia will be making new musical instruments, using piano strings and
piezzo speakers, the Swedish artist Stefanie Wuschitz will show you how to
hack your mobile phones and use them as amusing sound/image instruments. 
With audiovisual artist Michal Kindernay you can try to record videos
under water and with Italian-German sound artist Hannes Hoelzl you can
create tiny sound and light objects, powered by the energy of the water
drops.  For those who long for some adventure, there is a workshop Radio
Verité facilitated by Johana Švarcová, member of the collectives Kazety
and Radio Ivo. With her you can create a bit untraditional radio play
improvising around the theme “Escape from the prison”.
A little different approach to the drama is that of Belgian artist Guy Van
Belle, who would rather abolish theatre altogether. His workshop called 
Letmý dílo is a preparation for “the last theatre show ever”
and will take place in the afternoons, with coffee and cake.
Hungarian collective Besorolas Alatt will work with the participants on
relocating the building of the Old Sewage Works, luckily only on the sound
level, with the help of speakers and Pure Data software.
The community of Pure Data fans and freaks will meet during the Summer
Workshops at the informal Pure Data Session.

Besides the workshops you can look forward to pleasantly spent evenings
with concerts, lectures, screenings on water surface or barbecue. The
program is still open to suggestions, if you would like to join somehow,
don't hesitate to contact us!

Summer Workshops are organised by the non-profit organisation yo-yo,
founded by a Prague-based collective of artists and curators, in
cooperation with the Old Sewage Works in Bubeneč.
